Interactive Storytelling Masterclass with Dubai Business Women Council

My hands are still buzzing a little, if I’m being honest. Not from a caffeine rush, but from the sheer energy that filled the room during my masterclass with the Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC). I keep replaying moments – the genuine curiosity in their eyes, the way a shared anecdote would spark a flurry of questions, the laughter that punctuated our discussions.

“Beautiful souls” feels like an understatement. These women, entrepreneurs and leaders in their own right, came ready to dig deep. We weren’t there for a lecture, a dry PowerPoint presentation. Instead, we dove headfirst into the messy, exhilarating world of storytelling.

I’ve always believed that stories are the human equivalent of a handshake. They build bridges, forge connections, and, yes, they sell. But not in the pushy, transactional way we’re so used to. We explored how a well-crafted narrative can make your audience feel something, how it can translate the value of your work beyond just features and benefits.

We talked about vulnerability, about finding the authentic thread that connects you to your audience. We dissected personal anecdotes, business pitches, and even a few fictional tales, asking: “What makes this stick?” “Why do we care?”

There was a moment, I remember, when a participant shared a struggle she’d faced in her business. It wasn’t polished, it wasn’t perfect, but it was real. And in that raw honesty, everyone leaned in. It wasn’t about the problem itself, but the resilience, the lesson learned, the shared human experience. That’s the power of storytelling.

This incredible session was held at the impressive Dubai Chambers Building, adding an extra layer of inspiration to the day. I left Dubai feeling genuinely honored. Not just because I was invited to share my insights, but because I witnessed firsthand the power of women coming together, supporting each other, and embracing the art of connection. These women weren’t just learning how to sell; they were learning how to connect, how to inspire, how to build something meaningful.

I’m also deeply grateful to New Metrics for their invitation to be a part of their efforts with the Dubai Business Women Council. A special thank you to Nadine Halabi, Head of Business Development and Operations at DBWC, for her warm welcome and support. To Dima El Assi from DBWC, and Maya Omeiri from New Metrics, thank you for your seamless coordination and genuine enthusiasm. And to Mohamed Debouk, who first extended the invitation, thank you for this incredible opportunity.

It was a reminder that business isn’t just about numbers and strategies. It’s about people. It’s about the stories we tell, the connections we make, and the impact we leave behind. And in that room, with those incredible women, we wove some truly memorable stories together. It was a privilege to be a part of it.
