Just wrapped up a three-day storytelling workshop with the team at Partners for Good in Amman. Honestly, I walked in not really knowing what to expect, and walked out feeling like I’d made 22 new friends.
You know how sometimes you can feel a vibe the moment you step into a room? That was this group. From day one, it was clear they were there to genuinely engage, to share their stories, and to learn. We dove deep into what makes a story resonate, how to shape narratives for business, the works. It wasn’t just about the theory, though. We spent a lot of time on practical exercises, getting people on their feet and putting those ideas to the test.
Then came day three: the Shark Tank. I roped in three friends – each with their own unique industry experience – to be the judges. Five teams pitched their ideas, and let me tell you, the energy was electric. These weren’t just presentations; they were people putting their hearts into their concepts, and the judges didn’t hold back with their questions! It was intense, and it was real. I think everyone left with a much clearer sense of what it takes to sell an idea, and how to tell a story that sticks.
Usually, at the end of a workshop, you take a group photo, say your goodbyes, and that’s it. But this time felt different. Looking at those last few photos, I don’t just see a group of participants. I see people I connected with, who shared their experiences and made the whole thing more meaningful. I’ve run workshops all over, and this one? It’s going to stick with me.
To the team at Partners for Good – thank you. For the open minds, the vulnerability, and for reminding me why I love what I do. You guys were truly something else.
P.S. If you’re wondering what the photos look like, they’re not just snapshots. They’re proof of a solid three days and 22 new friendships.
